It can be tricky to grab gluten-free food on the run. So I like to keep a small stock of gluten-free goodies on hand.

Ah, who am I kidding. I usually have enough gluten-free snacks around to feed a small army. (Which is good when you have an active, social 6-year-old!)
One of my favorite on-the-run snacks is the delicious, nutritious gluten-free bars by Larabars. These yummy little treats are great for some quick 3:00 energy and dense enough to tide you over til your next gf meal. And how’s this for confidence on Larabar’s gluten-free status.The Larabar website has a dedicated page to tout that they’re gluten-free:“ALL of our products are, and always have been, 100% gluten-free!”

Most bars are primarily made up of dates (which I actually don’t like by themselves, but here they’re just a sweet, dense base upon which whole, natural foods are mixed to make various flavors). And there are so few ingredients listed, this is about as whole as you can get in a processed bar. It’s one of the few processed snacks that even my nutritionist begrudgingly agreed I could have. (“But not every day! Too much sugar is too much, Noi! No matter what kind of sugar it is!” Give me a break. I’ve eliminated gluten and dairy and 60+ other foods from my diet. Give me this llittle bit o sugar!! But I digress.) So yummy, nutritious and gluten-free.

Noi’s Note: If you have to be diary free, be careful of any with chocolate in them!
