Cheesecake Factory’s Gluten Free Menu 2013

Here’s the latest Gluten Free info for Cheesecake Factory… They say they’re “working towards providing a gluten free menu sometime in 2013.” But they said that in Feb 2012 as well, so I won’t be holding my breath waiting for a Gluten Free Cheesecake Factory menu….
But here’s what The Cheesecake Factory says about their current gluten-free options (a/o April 1, 2013):
Due to the possibility of a recipe change and/or product substitution, we respectfully recommend that you check with a manager prior to ordering. Our managers can confirm your selection and are happy to personally oversee the preparation of your meal. Despite these efforts, we are not able to guarantee against the unintentional or unforeseen cross-contamination of ingredients.

Personally, (since I’m so very sensitive to the slightest bit of gluten) I don’t risk eating at Cheesecake Factory any more. How about you? Have you eaten gluten-free from the Cheesecake Factory lately? Have they gotten any better?

Sorry for the repost- I’m figureing out this board still.

I just spoke today with the downtown SLC Cheescake Factory, and they confirmed that they do not have dedicated fryers or grills. However, “we fry the fries first thing in the morning,” she said.

Ummmm… okay. Putting a gluten free bun in your menu does not make you a gluten free restaurant. Too bad. I wish I could take my wife here.

Wondering how the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake can be considered Gluten Free when it contains Wheat husk. As a person with Celiac Disease, I’m also severely allergic to Wheat. I’m so glad I read this first before I ate it. This so called Gluten Free menu is deceiving.

I actually just ate there last night for my friend’s birthday. They were very good about finding out the ingredients, and I didn’t see wheat listed in that cake. I actually had it, and so far I feel fine. They are also great about double checking mixed drinks, and the gluten free menu there is pretty big. I can definitely see why you would be concerned tho. Reactions to gluten are not something to play with.

I ate at the Cheesecake factory this past weekend (Sept 2013). I ordered off of their Gluten Free Menu. I has Pasta Carbonara. The pasta was a little under-cooked, but I was very happy to be able to have pasta that I overlooked it. Then I noticed a noodle that was a different shape then the others…then another…another…a total of 5 pieces of non-gluten free pasta in my dish. I called the manager over and he apologized. They took my dish off the bill. Thankfully I have a wheat allergy and not a gluten allergy so I am able to tolerate a bit of wheat/gluten. But, this is not how I wanted to celebrate my birthday…waiting to see if I would or would not be ill.

I called ahead. In the restaurant i spoke to the food is cooked on the same surface as the rest of the food. That will cross contamination will have me doubled over in pain for a week. Instead, they agreed that I could bring my own food. I am much happier with that.

When the food is given its own preparation area i will try again. I think this gluten free menu is a step in the right direction.

Hey Barb, I thought that Gluten free stuff was just a hoax until my wife found out it cured her migraines of over 35 years. You speak the truth. I’m with you all the way!

RE Post from Princess: DItto for me too. Well I am not cured on the migraines but eliminating wheat and gluten (barley and malt really triggers them too) have reduced them by 60%. Glad I was diagnosed with Celiac

No options for gluten free, dairy free, vegan or vegetarian ON the menu?. How primitive! Must I hold up my table’s order to get a manager? Oh, and last I saw there were not any accommodations for wheel chair access either and not one person in a wheel chair dining. Are you kidding???? Bye Bye Cheesecake factory, make changes or you’ll be on line looking for a job at Chipotle.

My niece is in a wheelchair and eats at the Cheesecake Factory frequently. I am confused by your comment of no accommodations for wheelchair access.

Won’t be back. Been coming here for years, but have gotten stricter with diet due to health issues. They cannot provide their customers a gluten-free menu (as of June 2013 – REALLY??)
They specialize in desserts and can only offer me strawberries with whip cream?? Will not be back.

Very disappointing. My family and I always visit every year as we don’t have a Cheesecake Factory in the part of Canada I live. Last year I couldn’t even eat the Caesar Salad as they said it might contain gluten… and no dessert… Could they not at least bring in a gluten free cheesecake from somewhere else?.. sometimes it’s hard not to feel like a freak when you go to a restaurant and you can’t find anything decent to eat..

I dined at The Cheesecake Factory this afternoon and actually printed this information to take with me when ordering. Just a note for you that the head chef sent my server back to tell me the Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes, without Tomatillo Cream Sauce has a flour base and is not gluten free. Also, the SkinnyLicious Mustard Vinaigrette is not gluten free as it has soy in it. He did recommend the Citrus Honey dressing and he confirmed the Pear and Endive salad is gluten free. He also mentioned per the Chef’s instructions that you should check with them upon ordering as many of the dishes above use a flour base and all of their sauces contain gluten.

I was very fortunate to have a wonderful gluten free meal at the Cheesecake Factory in Las Vegas (in Caeser’s Palace, in the Forum shops mall). The Manager, Gary, took my order, double checked the ingredients list, and delivered my meal to me. He had recommended that I order this particular dish, because other customers had ordered it, and reported back to him that they had no reactions. The dish was called Chicken Mediera and he ordered it for me, so that they wouldn’t bread the chicken like they usually do. It was the most tender chicken I had ever had. The mashed potatoes and sauce that covered the chicken and potatoes, was sort of like a gravy sauce with wine added. It reminded me of when I used to eat Chicken Marsala. It was heavenly and I did not experience any reactions, whatsoever. I called the manager, several hours later, to happily report that I felt great. It is without a doubt, the best gluten free meal I’ve had, since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Thanks so much Cheesecake Factory!!
